End of The Year Gifts

Well I can not believe it but my boys school year is coming to a close. It has been such a wonderful year. They learned so much and made some really great new friends. Since I share homeroom mom duties with another lovely mommy, for the end of the year I was in charge of the gifts for the wonderful staff. For Winter Holiday I gave all the ladies candles. For Spring I was a little stuck, but after wondering through some stores I found such a cute gift idea. Here is what the boys and I will be bringing into school Wednesday...

I found these great country candle holders...

I picked up 5'' tapered candle sticks and tied a twine bow around the bottom...

I wrap everything in clear wrap! I just love it! I also love grosgrain ribbon so put the two together and I am sold!

I added some American Flags to the final product and Viola!
I really love the way they turned out. They were very simple to put together and they very extremely budget friendly. I figured the ladies can put them in their powder rooms or put them out for Fourth of July decoration. Who doesn't adore Americana decor?

The Best Way to Save Art!
Since the boys are coming home with all of their remaining artwork from school I wanted to share this simple portfolio idea. Every year since the twins have gone to school I buy two pieces of poster board and I tape them together on three sides using masking tape. This creates a large pocket folder. I date them and write the boy's name. This year Doc's favorite color is Blue and Buddy's is Red so obviously we needed those colors. Next year I can only imagine what colors they will want...maybe they will want to even decorate them. This is so easy and such a better solution than buying a fancy folder. Why buy when you can make it from scratch?
